Valuations

We have very strong capabilities in performing intrinsic value Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) Company Valuations and Business Plan Modelling.

This has allowed us to perform valuation modelling services to clients, with the focus being in stress testing the free cash flows through multiple scenarios. 

The key components we consider will be, growth assumptions, price sensitivity analysis, working capital, overdrafts and debt finance restructuring, shareholder loan structures, operational carve outs, expense items, capex and re-investment.

Independent Corporate Finance Services – Key expertise:

Charlie has the privilege of working with owner-managers, families and entrepreneurs as his clients in the expansion and evolution of their businesses, their acquisitions, their livelihoods, their legacies. Supporting these clients as a dedicated transaction and business advisor.

Charlie completed his B.Sc. in Applied Mathematics and Economics at the University of Pretoria (UP), followed by a B.Sc. (Hons) in Financial Mathematics at UP, going on towards reading the M.Sc. in Quantitative Financial Mathematics at Oxford University (Christ Church) in the UK, after which he continued as a reader of the M.Phil & D.Phil in Economic & Social History at Oxford University (Oriel College).

He then returned to South Africa to work with management consulting firms, and eventually for Ernst & Young (EY) as M&A senior manager and corporate finance strategy leader. He continued as an independent contractor back to EY, while also starting his own venture.

With a passion for the complexities and art of deal making, Charlie started Cardinal Transactions – a boutique corporate finance firm with focus in supporting entrepreneurs, offering specialised mergers & acquisitions (M&A) sell-side and buy-side services.

Before leaving the UK, Charlie jointly established The Oxford & Cambridge Alumni Wine Society, housed at the OC Club in St James, London, currently still co-presiding over it as one of the Founding Directors.

Charlie is primarily a family guy, dedicated above all to the pursuit of happiness of his wife and daughters, and thus his own. As a leisure, he can be found playing golf, or savouring the nuances of fine wines and the toasting of a hand-crafted cigar, or both.
